Tommy and the FeNo test

This video shows Tommy doing a FeNO test.

A nurse may ask you to do this test when you go to your asthma appointment.

It is a breathing test. It does not hurt.

The nurse will show you what to do, and you can watch Tommy’s video first if you feel a bit unsure.

You put your mouth on a small tube. Then you breathe out slowly, like you are blowing a long soft breath. After that, you take a big breath in and blow out again, nice and steady.

It can feel a bit like a game where you try to keep your breath going for as long as you can.

The machine looks at your breath and helps the nurse see how your lungs are feeling.

When you are finished, the results go to your nurse or doctor. This helps them know how to help you breathe better.
