Supporting Veterans this Remembrance Day
We are proud to be a group of Veteran Friendly Accredited GP practices. This means practice teams are trained to care for veterans and understand your needs.
Remembrance Day can be a difficult time for many people who have served. Our teams are here to help. They are trained to support your needs.
As Veteran Friendly Accredited practices, we:
- identify patients who have served in the Armed Forces
- understand the physical and mental health needs that can come from service life
- know about specialist NHS services for veterans, such as Op COURAGE for mental health support and the Veterans Trauma Network for physical injuries
- follow the Armed Forces Covenant, which means veterans and their families should not be disadvantaged when accessing healthcare
- take regular training to make sure we continue to offer the best possible care
If you are a veteran, please tell your practice.
They can add your service to your medical record. This helps them to:
- provide care that meets your needs
- refer you to dedicated NHS veteran services when needed
- link you with local and national support
You can find more details about the help available on our Veterans page: https://gosforthjesmondhealth.co.uk/veterans.

This Remembrance Day, we thank all who have served. We remain committed to caring for our veteran community every day.
