About Gosforth Jesmond Health (GJH)

Gosforth Jesmond Health (GJH) is a dynamic company established by the North Gosforth and Jesmond & Lower Gosforth Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to manage and deliver PCN contracts and services. We support six GP practices across two PCNs, serving a combined population of approximately 75,000. Our approach is innovative and collaborative, aiming to provide high-quality primary care in a challenging healthcare landscape.

About the Role

We’re looking for two GPs eligible for ARRS funding to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our Same Day Access (SDA) service and provide home visiting care, with a particular focus on supporting elderly and housebound patients.

You’ll work alongside an experienced team including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and a Paramedic Prescriber, with support from our Clinical Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Home visits across PCN practice areas, collaborating with community teams and providing holistic care for housebound patients.
  • Same Day Access clinic work, based at 200 Osborne Road, Jesmond, seeing acutely unwell patients triaged by practices.
  • Active participation in team-based care, including case discussions and shared learning.

This role builds on a successful ‘Winter Hub’ model and supports year-round adult and paediatric SDA services.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for same day care and elderly medicine
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working across multiple practices
  • Team players keen to help shape and improve local services

ARRS Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these ARRS-funded roles, applicants must:

  • Have obtained their CCT within the past two years (as of recruitment date)
  • Not have held a substantive GP post in general practice before

Support & Development

The visiting service is currently supported by two Clinical Directors and a full-time Paramedic Prescriber. The successful candidates will receive mentorship and ongoing support from our senior clinical team.
